This week’s featured project takes us to Utica, NY, where we helped a local homeowner give their porch a much-needed upgrade with brand-new energy-efficient replacement windows. The original porch windows were outdated, drafty, and lacking in performance, leading to temperature fluctuations and increased energy bills. Wanting a more functional and visually appealing space, the homeowner reached out to New York Sash for a custom solution—and we delivered with a full porch window replacement using vinyl double hung windows.
A Stylish and Functional Window Upgrade
The homeowner had been dealing with old, worn-out porch windows that were drafty, difficult to open, and made the space uncomfortable year-round. In the winter, cold air seeped in, and during warmer months, poor ventilation made the porch stuffy and unusable. Our customers were looking for a solution that combined comfort, efficiency, and curb appeal, they turned to New York Sash for help.
After assessing their needs with their design consultant, our customers decided to do our standard Double Hung model, known for durability, low maintenance, and energy efficiency. We installed ten Double-Hung windows in total, each featuring double-pane argon-filled glass, flat grids, and half screens for ventilation and protection. The clean grid design and updated configuration brought a fresh, cohesive look to the entire porch, while also improving insulation and visibility.
Our double hung windows allow for both the top and bottom sash to open, giving the homeowner greater control over airflow. Their vinyl frame construction ensures longevity with minimal upkeep, making them an excellent investment for any homeowner looking to improve both comfort and curb appeal.
